General
We rent exclusively trials motorcycles for a variety of reasons.
- First and foremost they’re incredibly fun and easy to ride!
- Second, they’re about 100lbs lighter than a traditional dirt bike meaning they are much safer.
- Third, they have an amazing power to weight ratio, progressive suspension and a simple yet powerful 2-stroke motor.
Basically, these bikes can be considered the ultimate downhill mountain bike with a motor (and you get to enjoy the uphills too, no ski lift). They allow riders of any level to experience the technical Hawaiian terrain that otherwise would likely be beyond their ability level. Trials motorcycles also offer the traditional endure or motocross rider a new experience that forces you to focus on the basics of motorcycle riding and greatly improves your skills.
“Trials, the most fun you can have on a motorcycle”
Motorcycle trials, also termed observed trials, is a non-speed event on specialized motorcycles. The sport is most popular in the United Kingdom and Spain, though there are participants around the globe.
Trial motorcycles are distinctive in that they are extremely lightweight, lack seating (they are designed to be ridden standing up) and have suspension travel that is short, relative to a motocross or enduro motorcycle.
Motorcycle trials is often utilized by competitors of other motorcycle sports (such as motocross or street racers) as a way to cross-train, as trials teaches great throttle, balance, and machine control.
We practice another form of trials often called ‘Mountain Trials’ where we ride the bikes similar to a downhill mountain bike.
We have been riding and renting dirt bikes for over 10 years. Our rental and beginner business is 2 years old. Come and be part of something special as we grow!

The Rides
Kahuku Motocross Park has something for riders of every level. Whether you like steep flowing downhills, long technical climbs, natural terrain riding, rocky riverbeds, or flowing single track you are likely to find something at Kahuku Motocross. There is also a seemingly endless variety of terrain varying from: eucalyptus forests, norfolk pine groves, guava covered valleys, ironwood trees and even lunar landscapes to experience.
The park has been open to motorcycling since the track was built in 1972. Ever since then, an amazing (and hardcore) crew of locals have cut and built one of the most amazing networks of trails in the world. You have to experience it to understand what it’s like since words won’t suffice.
The park is located on Oahu’s North Shore, about half a mile from the famous Sunset Beach. Once you pull off of Kamehameha Hwy you will drive a couple of miles up into the park where there is plenty of parking. The track is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 8:00am to 6:00pm. There is a daily riding fee of $10 dollars, or $5 if you purchase the annual pass. The annual pass costs $30 and is available to purchase at Kahuku Motocross.
To learn more about the Moto Track visit the Hawaii Motorsports Association’s website: www.ridehma.com.
The riding is amazing at Kahuku. The terrain can be steep, in the trees, with beautiful single track everywhere. There are so many options you can make up any lines you want and almost never do the same ride twice.
Once you leave Kamehameha Hwy and turn up to the mountain you’ll be on a jeep road. Although rough, the road is in good enough condition for small cars to drive on. On wet raining days the road because slick and muddy.
Directions
Clicking on the link above you bring you to Google Maps where directions to the trail are plotted in from Honolulu Airport.
We offer two different ride durations:
2-hour rentals and half-day rentals.
For beginners we recommend that you spend a half-day riding to get the most out of what we offer. The first hour or two will consist of familiarizing yourself with the motorcycle, riding open dirt roads and wide trials. Once you’re more comfortable on the bikes and have better control of the throttle and clutch, you can venture into some more advanced areas.
For experienced riders, our terrain vary immensely. We’ll initially get you set up on your bike and take a mellow cruise around to do some skill assessments, and once that’s complete and based on your level we quickly head off into the trails. The 2-hour rental will consist of one long ride with beverages once we get back to the vehicle. For the half day rental we will usually take 2 separate rides with the second one being the more challenging of the two. On certain occasions, with the right group we can pack extra gas and some food and head out for the entire half day to really experience some amazing and hard to get to terrain.
