I’m from Canada and make a few yearly visits to Hawaii to hit the beach and surf mostly. On one of my trips recently I came across Hawaii Trials Adventures and figured I go for a ride and see how how it was. I wa blown away! Not only is the scenery breathtaking but the riding is amazing as well! Great tacky red dirt with big climbs and technical lines, rocky creeks enclosed in lush overgrown junlgle. I honestly thought I was on the set of Jurassic park a few times. And when I got tired there always seems to be nice easy way around to another area. One of the best places I’ve ever ridden and I live in Whistler BC! To top it all off the guides are hilarious and an Amazing host/guide! Can’t wait to get back there for some more riding….. And maybe some surfing!
I am a 31 year old female from Florida and moved to the North Shore in December 2012 to be with my boyfriend. I live in Hawaii part of the year and Florida part of the year. I soon found out that every weekend he was hitting the trails with his trial bike in Kahuku. He always came back so fired up about his day. I wanted to join the fun so I decided to try out dirt biking for the first time. Being from Florida I have no experience with mountains and had also never driven anything with a clutch in my life (motorcycle, dirt bike, or car)! I picked it up in no time and it was so fun and exhilarating. Zack was there with me from the beginning and was so patient with me. He knows the mountain trails like the back of his hand and is a great riding partner. He gave me encouragement and taught me how to effectively get the bike up the mountain. When I was nervous and didn’t think I could do it (b/c of my lack of experience) he walked me through it and gave me tips on how to handle the trail. I always feel safe with Hawaii Trials Adventures and know that I will have an incredible experience each time I ride with them. It is so neat to explore the island this way. You can get to some incredible spots on the top of the mountain that you couldn’t necessarily get to easily on foot. Seeing views of the ocean at the top of the mountain is so amazing and also rewarding to know you got yourself there. Going down the mountain on the trials is just as exciting too! Next time you are visiting the North Shore make sure to rent a whip from Hawaii Trials Adventures. You will not be disappointed.
